Personal motto

Do you have one?

I just adopted a new one which I found on a forum:

Life is not about arriving at your grave intact but rather to skid in bloody and screaming "HOLY SH#$ WHAT A RIDE!"

I had to share it with you folks. It puts a smile on your face doesn't it ;) What is your motto?

Remember who you wanted to be.

and

I shall not live in vain. (which kind of goes along the same lines as yours)

Relative to work:

Justify your existence and cover your arse...

More a philosophy than a motto...

I use this one as a fallback whenever I come up against insurmountable obstacles:

With ignorance and determination in the right proportions I can achieve anything.

'All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible.'
- T.E.Lawrence 'The seven pillars of wisdom'

A bit heavy for an essex boy but T.E.Lawrence was one the greatest men to ever live, yep I even rank him above myself.... Shame he didnt come from Essex

My personal motto breaks into spiritual/religious/philosophical realms, and can't be posted. Bah :)

nil satis nisi optimum

or

"Better to let the world think you are a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all Doubt" Mark Twain I think. Much the same as edit_g's "a closed mouth gathers no foot" LOL :)
