The Chicoutimi was originally built for the Royal Navy, when it was known as HMS Upholder. It was bought by the Canadian Navy, where it is now one of four Victoria Class long-range patrol submarines. It was renamed and formally handed over to its new owners during a ceremony at Faslane on Saturday.
Whilst thankfully no one was seriously injured in the accident - the result of an electrical fire - one wonders if the personnel at the Faslane submarine base would not be better employed in selling used car sales...
No offence meant to anyone in the Used Car business, of course, but the image of a certain Arthur Daly does spring to mind in this instance..;-)

It's a total joke - at least no-one was injured. If I owned a car dealership, I'd hire those salesmen who managed to offload that heap of rust on the spot.
I wonder how many of you might recall Satirewire from a few years ago? This article [satirewire.com] is from Feb 2002...

England couldnt afford to maintain her Subs and sold them in poor condition to a long standing friend who trusted her to sell only quality naval equipment.
Its a national disgrace, whats next?
Selling rotting food to starving Africans?
