Granny Clampett had a sure fire cure for the common cold. Can't exactly remember what the cure was, but I do remember that once taken, the cold vanished in 7-10 days.

Thanks, lawman, that was very useful...;-)

My suggestion would be "Hot Toddy's".

There are many recipies for this (most too fancy) but none as efficient and effective as the one my Mum (Scots born and bred) makes:

1 x tumbler glass.

Fill to 1/3 with whisky.

Add 1/6 freshly boiled water.

Add 1 tsp sugar.

Stir.

Inhale fumes and sip frequently; finish whilst the tincture is still warm.

If in doubt, repeat the above...

If still in doubt, repeat the above...

It works every time - so much so that I'm looking forward to going home to Scotland this coming Christmas with a cold...

;-)

I recommend using zinc and getting lots of rest.

Here is my Family recipe:
1/3 whiskey, 1/3 lemon juice, 1/3 boiling water honey to sweeten it up and sooth a sore throat. Drink, repeat. Then sleep.

If I see myself getting a head cold I get thai food, order an some tom yum soup and whatever the hottest dish they have is, eat it all and then go to bed under many blankets.

If you have a health food store near you that sells homeopathic meds you may want to do the following:
One tube 6c belladonna. 5 pellets 3 times daily for the fever

If you have a runny nose and sneezing: one tube of 6c Allium Cepa. 5 pellets 3 times daily

If you have "thick nasal discharge" (gross) - One Tube 6c Kalium Bichromicum - 5 pellets, 3 times daily

That stuff, plus lots of liquids and rest usually zaps a cold in a few days.

No cures for the common cold.

So...find a walkin freezer, dowse yourself with a bucket of water and stay in the freezer for about 20 minutes. You'll develop pneumonia, and the doctors can cure that. ;)

Standard Disclamier- yada yada yada, don't try this at home, or anywhere else for that matter. I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on PC.

I drank a whole lot of scotch whiskey at a bar the other night, and I didn't wake up feeling very good. Are you guys sure this works?

Drink a couple of bottles of Port. You sleep for so long that when you wake up the cold has run its course.
