I'm so excited and I just can't hide it!

Cheesy, yes. Accurate, definitely. I won today!

I had a big meeting about the total redesign of our major commercial site. And can I just say that the number one thing I hoped for came true? The company is actually going to let me do focus testing on audience members! YEAH! I didn't hear a gripe from ANYONE saying no, it'll cost too much or it isn't necessary, we've never done it before. I'm so jazzed right now. I was CERTAIN that people would bulk at the idea cause we haven't done focus testing in the past. We just sit around, talk amongst ourselves about how WE think the site should be navigated, then make the site accordingly, without customer input. Bad idea.

Anywho, I needed to share. It makes me feel like I'm not a phony any more. I always felt like I was a fraud, about to be discovered and discredited. I don't know why, cause I certainly know my stuff, but its always that bit of trepidation at the back of my mind.

Yes it does. But as a webmaster, it is SUCH a struggle to make people see why their ideas are insane. Our sales reps especially bug me! They have these great ideas (ha!) which they all want to see implemented yesterday. What they don't realize, is that them giving me these "great" ideas is akin to me giving them sales advice. "You know what, Joe Salesperson, I think that if we gave a poodle away with each of our products, we'd sell a lot more. What do you think of that?"

If I were your competition, I'd love for your company to give away poodles with your products! ;)

You know, I didn't think before I put my sales idea in this thread...If anyone decides that giving away poodles with product is a good idea AND they make money off of it, I want my cut! :)

Of the money.

Not the poodle.

It might work if you're selling rottweilers. Buy the big dog, and get it's first meal free!

I might not market the poodle as the rotties first meal. What with PETA getting on one's case for such things...Instead, I'd market it towards people who want poodle/rottweiler mix dogs: Rottiepoos.

Oh my. I'm so glad its Friday.... :)

poodle/rottweiler mix dogs: Rottiepoos.

It's a good angle - kind of like a "stealth" dog. It sure looks cute and fluffy, but if you mis-match those frilly silk bows and make it look silly, it'll rip your arm off!

Surely: Poodweilers...?

Hmmm...encyclo, you give me ideas...I'll market them as the "All American National Security Pet: Rottiepoos"

There will be an entire line of such dogs...the #*$!zu/poodle mix: "All American Little Stinker: Shitpoos"

The cocker spaniel/chihuahua mix: "The Barbara Walters Dog: Cockahuahua"

This is so much more fun than work. I need a job as a dog breeder so I can unleash my freakish creations on the world.

<added>how funny! I didn't realize that I'd need to make shitzu all one word so that it didn't get censored! :)</added>

It started out as a healthy, well-adjusted thread and devolved from there...

Friday is the day that guy "Leary" comes around to change the bottle on the water cooler..

Note to Brett ..you're gonna have to tighten up the "naughty word routine" ...some "wildwoman" just found the workaround...( off to see if it knows other languages )...just kidding ;)

You'd think now that I'm married I'd have settled down some and put the days of trying to get around naughty word filters behind me....
