I came across an intersting read on broadband internet access. Verizon is implementing fiber optics to households for broadband. 5MBPS for the low end package. This is also dedicated not shared.

Nice....

But since my phone lines are a minimum of 25 years old, and since Qwest has ZERO plans to upgrade to fib-op for the 40 full time phone subscribers here, it's simply another "nice for the other guy" thing.... *sigh*
