Anyone know what happened to BugMeNot.com? I can't find anything on Google News mentioning it ... but the site appears to be gone.

I know the hosting company they use, and they might not have paid their bandwidth bill: the hosting company charges for bandwidth and disk space, but only what you use, pre-paid. If you run out of cash deposited because you've had a bandwidth hike (like a slashdotting, for example), the site goes down until you make another payment.

Of course, it may be something completely different...

vkaryl - Bug Me Not was a web site which offered working passwords that let you access protected content from web sites that force you to register before you can use the site (like so many newspaper sites).

I don't do newspapers sites, maybe that's why.

What a cool site. No wonder the owner is blaming pressure from companies for his inturruption of service. I've never gone on any newspaper sites because they all want you to sign up for spam. This site is great! Every usernam/pass I've used has worked.

I second that - it's a great timesaver and a relief to know that you're not going down on yet more mailing lists. A very smart idea.
