The characters, roughly translated meant "futile existence". My friend didn't have the heart to tell her...
There's a wide variety of interesting and unique artwork that was painted on the nose of many World War II and Korean war bombers. (none today, as most of the oldies are not considered 'politically correct' today).
I know a guy that used one of the nose art designs for the fuel tank of his Harley Sportster.

I'm thinking of having the Chinese character for "water" tatooed on my right shoulder this summer. As far as I know it's identical in Chinese and Japanese and I can write it myself in Japanese anyway, so I know what it looks like.
Why water? It's connected with some things that Lao Tse said.
I could find other words to describe him. Whatever was his opinion about his victim, I consider this abusive and somehow sick. He is better to watch his Karma.
Sooner of later someone will tell her and she will be really hurt.
If it was from me, the guy would end up with a sphincter tattooed on his forehead.
I used to do a lot of "bike meets" ..was forever having tatoo artists come to me for artwork ( still do via the net )as most of them unfortunately can't actually draw for sh*t...
In 99% of cases what they pass off as original they just rip off somewhere ( and copy hoping that you won't read the same mags ) or if you are lucky they recombine to make a "cut and paste" ..some of the better ones now do this with 'puters ....
If you really want "original" ..ask if they paint ..ask to see what they paint ..You'll soon see if they have talent and if they copy or have their own imagination ...
The day the search facilty on the net allows for searching for images by appearance and not by title ..lots of people are gonna be surprised about how much image theft really happens ...
