(Pete Townshend) added that he wished... the film well. "But he'll have to work very, very hard to convince me that a man with a camera is going to change the world more effectively than a man with a guitar."

Read it in the Independent [news.independent.co.uk].

I can't understand the freaking lyrics to sing along with them, much less have them change my life. Is it me or is this guy not aging well?

Ah, the Who. "I hope I die before I get old!"

Of course, Pete must be nearly up to collect his pension now. "Why don't you all just f-f-f-fade away..."

Cut ol' Pete some slack. I'd much rather listen to him than Michael Moore. ;-)

"What is this man smoking?"

If you have to ask, you're in the wrong generation entirely.

[Doesn't matter that I was "of" that generation - I was ALWAYS a card-carrying member of the "establishment", even though my first husband was - um - well, can't really be real honest here, so just merge wannabe Bob Dylan with whatever smokable you can remember fondly or otherwise from that era.... Had the man just been happy to write his music and play his guitar (yup - he really did and was really talented) rather than believing himself the next Bob or Pete (Seeger not Townshend!), he'd have been fine....]
