An America Online software engineer was charged Wednesday with stealing 92 million AOL screen names and selling them to a spammer, federal prosecutors in New York said.

I'm surprised and I'm not. At least it wasn't credit card numbers. I think about that at every online store I order from. I'm sure most companies don't encrypt them in the database.

I'm more surprised that someone would use an aol email account for business.
