Just burning all my important data to dvd, copied interresting files to my colleagues drive, sent out a email to the entire corporation saying good bye and doing a joke about the execs, collecting all the stuff that's on under, behind, in my desk.

What else to do?

make sure you never burn any bridges, although the joke about execs may have done that already.

Have a REALLY long lunch.

And then leave early to go to the pub and get smashed.

Copy all of your email to cd/dvd. Although be discreet, since it's really company property. But it's great to CYA. Then delete all of your email off of the server. Delete all incriminating evidence from your computer, like cookies, internet history, and p*rn.

Order 100 pizzas to the president of the company.
Bring a 6-pack to the office to enjoy with the pizza.
Play hallway sports.
Last day is always hawaiian shirt day.

If you're going out with your colleagues for a drink this evening, don't let your boss do what mine did and buy you a double absinthe with vodka chaser.

Warren, I consider 1.5 hours as long. :)

I'm not allowed to copy the emails, unfortunately, but formatted my PC before I left. All unimportant stuff should be destroyed, the important one was copied in the last 2 years anyway. ;)

Shak inspired me for clothing on my last day in the office, when I get my papers from the HR department and have a lunch with my colleagues. PubCon 6.5 attendees know what I mean. ;)

Hmmm, 100 Pizzas might be considered as wrong order by the pizza service and would take couple of hours... :)

Hey ThomasB 1.5 hours is NO WHERE near a long lunch.

The best thing about a previous sales life, was that long lunches were not only the norm but were expected.

Lunch would start at 11:00am and finsh about 4pm. Just in time to get back to work for the 4:30pm drinks.

Now that was the life.

Aside: so you weren't allowed to copy email...just forward it to your new G mail account! A new use for Gmail?

I've forwarded ALL the important mail to a "slush" hotmail account then reforwarded through a couple of other servers to a "sideways" account on one of the many domains I admin for.

Presumably ThomasB was able to do something of that nature as well.

Bless you TB - and I hope your next situation will be a happier more rewarding experience!
