If it's paint it's prime-er.

If it's a book it's primm-er.

P.S. What's that you been smokin' in your pipe, fella? Yous been a bit airyudite lately.

Prime Canadians say "prime-er".

I've always said prime-er... and I've spent less than a week of my life in Canada.

Point 1: We are an infectious people. Drink American "beer" until the acquired accent/pronunciation passes.

Point 2: Alaska is closer to Canada than the lower 48. See Point 1.

primmer. As in "a basic expository on any given premise".

primer (pronounced as "pr-eye-mur") is generally the match or other source of heat/fire/flashpoint setting off the cannon, the fuse, a matchlock pistol, a blackpowder rifle, or the "mouth" which starts a revolution..... or a petroleum compound which will not only prepare a surface for paint or other finish, but will remove skin, sinuses, etc. from your body....
