Groomsmen Gifts

Any ideas on what I can give them?

I am getting married and need to get something for my best man and groomsmen. I don't want to do the standard flask which most guys seem to do. I want to do something more creative. Something only guys would like.

Any ideas?

Watches, engraved money clips, keychains related to thier hobby (like golf), cufflinks, keychain mini-maglites.

If you can get your hands on a gMail invite those are pretty hot I hear.

A fly rod and reel. Then take them fly fishing in a year :)

A gift certifiacte for a round of golf, a reunion get together in a year on the links.

A nice cigar and lighter. Maybe a cigar holder.

Buy sets of cufflinks, one of watches and one of compasses, then give one watch and one compass cufflink to each person. When they wear them they will match the others and only they will know why they have one of each on. (The cufflinks can be had fairly inexpensivly if you search the web around listing number 15 to 25.)

I give up, what do you give them ;)

The last wedding I was a part of I received a branding iron with my initials in it. I thought that was pretty cool.

"I received a branding iron with my initials in it."

Useful for marking your underwear so that it doesn't get confused ever again or making sure your neighbour doesn't seal your cat - again.

Damn straight ;) ...actually I think it's for steak and things on the grill. We were told that branding the bridesmaids was a no-no unless express written permission was received.

I'd go for the engraved pocket watch, small flask (that is food-safe), and or cigar holder with matching lighter and cutter.

BTW - Congrats!

That kinda takes all the fun out of it - what else are bridesmaids for?

Especially if you are a single guy at a wedding!

I got a really nice fountain pen when I was a best man. I used it to sign the wedding certificate as witness.

I do like the branding iron idea though ;-)

I wonder if branding the certificate would be legal?

It is not necessary that a party should write his name himself, to constitute a signature; his mark is now held sufficient though he was able to write. A signature made by a party, another person guiding his hand with his consent, is sufficient.

I don't think the vicar would like it much though.
