okay i know that this topic doesn't really belong to webmasterworld, but most of the other forums i contacted were useless so maybe you can help me.
i've got a programme installed that monitores the upload and download speed of all programmes. now when i download something using firefox, it shows that "ccproxy.exe" is downloading at the same speed as firefox does. now here's my question: does the traffic have to pass ccproxy.exe in order to keep the transfer safe? or may it be something else?
thanks in advance!

If it's the product metioned here:

[youngzsoft.net...]

It's acting as a software proxy server, so all your traffic will be routed "through" it - kind of pointless in the age of cheap, configurable router/hub/switches.
