Dogs in the Googleplex?

Are they or aren't they allowed anymore?

I read on another message board today that Google employees could bring their dogs to work, and I set about researching where they got that quote from (it was an older message so I didn't bump the thread).

I couldn't really find a definitive answer-- in Google's history page they said that dogs "roam the halls" and there is a picture of a dog in an office on the "inside the Googleplex" page on Google's site. But then I read a story that said that after the move to the new offices they no longer allowed dogs or that they had to be on leashes and finally I read a CNET article posted yesterday that talked about dogs hanging out in office cubicles. So, does anyone know what the deal is exactly? :P I need to know before I invest my money hehehe.

And on a side note, if anyone has specific knowledge, can just ANYONE bring dogs? Or is it only a benefit to those who have earned it (ie Senior staff/etc).. What about other kinds of pets?

Curious...

It was a typo, they meant "roam the walls". It was posted after a food fight.

I know first hand hot-dogs are allowed in the plex.

Hope this will help.

Macguru- heh, if Charlie Ayers read your post, and you visited the Googleplex, I'm certain he'd pronounce "No soup for you!" :P
