Why does his name come up so often?

Recently, I have noticed Donald Trump's name come up in magazines (Fortune), forum posts and finally today, in a cartoon strip.

So who is this guy? Why has he suddenly become so popular?

He's been in U.S. news for years. Owner of many businesses.

Lately, he's been on a U.S. tv show called the Apprentice, which has been a ratings hit, so his popularity has increased.

Man, no offese or anything, but here in the US, asking who Donald Trump is can be equated to asking who that Jesus guy is. ;0)

Mr. Trump has been in and out of the news since I was a little kid. His divorce from Ivana and subsequent marriage to the other broad was tabloid news for months when I was in high school.

Now with this TV show, he's big news. The final episode of The Apprentice made headline news.

Sad, I know, but what can you expect from us Americans.
