A fantasy film is only several hours from getting oscar for best picture

Well, if you believe all the papers and all the critics, The chance of LOTR being snubbed at the oscars again is about as great as a comet hitting the earth today.
And if ROTK does get snubbed, may the comet take out LA :)

I wonder if those people actually watch anything other than the top grossing movies. Lord of the Rings SUCKED.

I loved it. Think it is the best one could make out of that book. Only thing I didn't like was how Arwen (Liv Tyler) was made such an important part of the story, but I guess the movie had to have at least one female main character.

Lord of the Rings SUCKED.
Even when it was not as good as the book, it was better than my expectatives. I, as most of you, missed Bombadil, the scouring of the shire, etc. But I still remember the previous tries to put such a book on a film... 11+4+4 19 Oscars for full trylogy: Good work!
