Under settings and "Program start" you have an option "Close program if everything is OK". A friend of mine checked this... resulting in the program always closing (since everything seems to be OK). But, that also makes it impossible to run updates or any other checks you would want to run manually.

How can she undo this setting?

Looks like you just uncheck the box.

Not if the program never gets to that point ;)
...since it closes right away

Go deep into the bowels of your computer, sword in hand ... ;-)

Actually:

First try opening Spybot directory on your hard drive and clicking "SpybotSD.exe" which should open it up normally on screen.

If that fails open Spybot directory on your hard drive and click "Default Configuration.ini". Set undesired automation ("AutoClose" I think) to "0" to disable. It probably shows as "1" right now.

AutoClose was actually set to 0... But that last link truly provided the answer. Thanks a ton!
