Are there any seriously famous people lurking here?
You know..... rock stars, politicians, royalty etc.
Nows your chance to own up and come out of the closet before someone else does it for you.

I would never consider myself famous (and none of you have heard of me) but I was quite suprised the other day to find a quote page where my name was listed between Ghandi and Goethe. Made my day.

I know one person that is famous, GoogleGuy.

I'm basically the un-professional dude who lurks about answering threads, knowing that all his posts will be ignored.

Depends on what you mean by famous...
Yes, GoogleGuy is famous (at least here on Webmaster World).
Brett_Tabke is famous too...

Otherwise I think the famous people prefer to stay fairly anonymous :)

I used to be a drummer for a band thats getting well known in the UK - mostly for the antics of its lead singer and winning Best UK Band at the NME awards this year.

Been on TV a fair amount as a spokesperson for an industry I used to be involved in. I quit appearing on TV when I started getting recognized in the street.

Appeared on Japanese TV dancing with a large plastic strawberry on my head. (A commercial).

Does getting one of your posts ripped off from a private forum and fed word for word to the New York Times count?

Nope - not from this board, not a post here.

If they lurk but don't post how would we know if they're lurking? If they post we know. Danny Sullivan is pretty famous and posts here from time to time, he's been a regular as far back as I can recall. His name is just about a household word whenever search engines are talked about.

"Appeared on Japanese TV dancing with a large plastic strawberry on my head. (A commercial)."
Did you really have to specify that it was Japanese? couldn't you give us enough credit to figure that one out?

I was on tv once, I was sitting behind a news announcer and doing the little peace sign behind the head to look like a rabbit thing to him.

Uhm...that's about it. I really need to do some idiotic and random stunt to get my name well-known, eh?

My page was #1 in SERPs for my keywords before I started seoing it.
