I've been monitoring prices of surround sound receivers the last few days, bought a nice one yesterday online at about $300 less than what the major retailers were selling it for. From an authorized dealer to boot.

Then, this morning I got an email about one of those major retailer's big t-day sale, "huge discounts" I think it said, so I checked it out. EVERY receiver I had been looking at yesterday was now at least priced at $50 more! It must be really easy to give "huge discounts" that way.

The euphemisms of marketing!

Where "SALE" means that The item is simply "For Sale".
Where "DISCOUNT" means that it is less than somewhere else at some other time.
Where "BELOW INVOICE" means that there is a rebate from the supplier later.

Caveat Emptor! And Happy Hol .. Shopping Season to all!
