Everyone, I remember seeing part of the movie a few years ago where it had a unicorn and little fairy ppl and a devil. Not for the kids, scary i think, but they cut off the unicorns horn. I think it might have been called legends, but the only movie I found so far with that title is one with marilyn monroe, or something like that. Thanks, Mac

Try Tim Curry - Legend. That could be it. HTH

So's Princess Bride, imho. I had to physically restrain my husband so he would watch it, but now he's a fan, too. I mean, c'mon, it's got pirates and sword-fighting and...

I've actually read the book. Some people tell me it's a chic flic, I don't know what they're talking about.

I've read the book, too.
The "chick flick" bit -- nah, it can't be a chick flick, it doesn't have Meg Ryan in it!

you keep on using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Which word? If you're referring to the two word phrase "chick flick" it's common meaning here in the U.S. is "a movie only women would really enjoy". Here you go: Google for "chick flick" [google.com]
I imagine the alternative meaning has something to do with porn, but really, what words in the English language AREN'T also twisted into porn usage somehow? (rhetorical question -- not looking to start a list of such words.)

Maybe they're referring to "chic", which is all about fashion and style. ;)

LOL, Fiver!
DH -- you're probably right, though "chic" hadn't been repeated so I assumed he was referring to my usage.
I make horrible grammar goofs often, so when I don't I'm a little protective of my correct-ness. ;-)

anybody want a peanut?
. . .hmmm, methinks you'd have to be a rather big princess bride fan to think I'm not crazy at this point.
