Spam w/ large attachments

At my Yahoo e-mail

Like most everyone else here I have a freebie e-mail address that I use when I sign up for stuff where I suspect there will be an onslaught of spam coming to my e-mail account. I also use it for posting on Google Groups.

I just recently actived this Yahoo e-mail and the type of spam I'm getting is the so-called MS patches etc. These e-mails have large attachments. I don't even open the e-mails, but instead send them right to my trash.

Yahoo e-mail doesn't empty my trash fast enough to handle these e-mails w/ attachments and my inbox gets maxed out everyday. When I reach 5 MB, I can no longer send or receive e-mail.

So, I've decided on a new approach of NOT emptying my trash so I can no longer receive e-mail. Frankly, I haven't been receiving anything worth reading anyway. Since everything will be bouncing now, do you think these spammers will remove my e-mail address or do I need to shut down this address and move on to yet another free e-mail service?

Spammers won't receive bounce messages as they fake their From: addresses. If you don't receive anything useful there, just move on.

I came up with a little work-around for my problem. I keep my mail box full of all this trash and keep just enough space available so I can still receive small "normal" e-mails that don't have attachments.

Again, I wonder why I bother with all the effort, but what the heck.
