$110 to be towed down the street and parked in an impound for approximately 7 hours.

I need to own myself a towing company, methinks.

Yes, they towed my car. :)

How? Well, they hooked it up to the tow truck and went to town. I imagine they got into the car somehow, because the seat was moved up. But I'm not too sure how the actual operation is performed.

Why? I was parked in the wrong spot in MY garage (I was unloading). :) Yes, my own fault, but I would have imagined the garage would have called me or something... not like they didn't recognize the car. And I had a tag displayed.

No damage or anything done to the car. It was just mildly annoying.

I'd rather own a parking lot here in boston. Good money, minimal upkeep, and less angry customers.

The towing companies around here are quite scary. They'll just pick up any ol' car and tow it. My ex was working one evening at the big BK when all of a sudden a tow truck came into the parking lot and positioned itself to to his car away. He ran outside and confronted the guy who said, Well the manager called and told me to tow it. The manager had done no such thing cause he knew it belonged to my ex. Sides, the manager himself had had the same towing company show up at work and actually start hoisting the car stating that the manager called and requested it be towed. What crow to eat once the tow guy found out the angry individual in front of him WAS the manager. Oopsie.

I remember some years ago hearing about the agressive goings on over in Quebec. Some of the towing companies and their drivers are as vicious as sharks.

Reminds me of an incident about 13 years ago in Cincinnati.

Sunday morning: Went for my haircut, parked in a public lot, put the quarters into the meter (for an hour) and then went to the barber shop. Found out I'd forgotten my credit card so went back to my car, came back with the credit card and parked in the same spot with about 30 minutes left on the meter.

20 minutes later: Came back and the car was towed. Ended up paying $15 odd for a cab and about $50 to recover my car.

What hurt the most was a sign at the impound "This is a place of business, please behave respectfully."
