Same in Switzerland (not only on the mountains, also on the lower levels). Had to brush the snow off my car this morning.

Can't wait for the snow to be enough for me to get my snowboard out of the closet :).

I hadn't snowed yet a couple weeks ago in Alaska, which was a surprise to me... but I'm sure when I get back in January everything will be sorted out.

Well, given some of the descriptions I've heard of my personlity over the years, snow isn't far off from "icy" anyhow. Maybe I'll have to give the 'force of nature' thing a try sometime... hehehehe.

it snowed a dusting in westchester ny the night before last (wed.) but i ws disappointed in my desire for a snow day.

now i'm discovering that the heater in my apartment is broken.

Woohoo! Had our first dusting of the white stuff last night. I can't get over how beautiful the landscape is when it's covered in snow - and I saw my first dawn in about 25 years today (of course it helps that the Sun itself can't be bothered getting up until after 8am :)

Now if I can just learn how to ski, snowboard and ice-skate as I'm the only one in this town over the age of 4 who can't do all of the above.

Every year I go into denial that winter is going to come. It was 24 degrees celsius two weekends ago in Halifax Nova Scotia. Two days ago it snowed 200 miles north of here in Frederiction.

As long as our good neighbors to the south keep pumping out all those greenhouse gases, I may live to see a winter without snow in Maritime Canada. Keep up the good work George.

Summer is here in Australia. I went for a surf today and it is around 28 degrees C. He he... :) Snow is only fun in the mountains anyhow - as far as I can remember Denmark doesn't really have any. ;)

Snow hit here in Montana about 3 weeks ago. Capped the mountains, and even stuck around in the valleys for a couple days. Then it was 75-80 for a week. Now it is 40 again.

I am expecting a big dump by middle of next week, one that should stick around until May-June when we skip spring and just go right on into summer.

If you go to SES in Munich nov 10.-11. there's a chance to see snow if you miss it. If there's no snow you can try to persuade me driving you to the Alps where you'll find some snow for sure. :)

Or you can take a 90 minute train ride south to Garmish, and the from what I am told, the best skiing in Germany.

Depends on how many forest fires there were this season......

Montana 2000, 1 million acres burned.
Not as bad in 2001 or 2002 (although one of the 2000 fires restarted after being smothered through the winter.)
This season, tally is not in yet, but looks as bad as 2K.
