Ugh, stay away form this product.

Spam at my workplace was getting so bad i knew I finally had to do something about it. So after poking and prodding my cheap boss, I got him to shell out the 30 bucks for Mcafee Spamkiller.

Why did i choose it? I reviewd a few spam-type software on the web, and this one seemed to have the capabilities that I needed. Plus it came from a reputable company, so it should be OK, right?

Wrong.

Thing has worked horrible from the moment i installed it. First it downloads a buncha messages. Then it shows me which ojes were good mails and which ones were spam. The problem is, the 'good' mails never ended up in my inbox! I can see them in spamkiller, but there is no way to print them or send them back out again. I spent about 2 hours cutting and pasting text into notepad and printing it.

The interface is horroble. Takes me 3 clicks and several pauses to actually see the spam it was catching. And it will not run by itself, it has to interface itself with some horrid mcafee control panel.

Finally, the thing crashes, alot. It shocked me because i am running win 2000, and i have not seen my machine crash yet. I just installed it today, and after the fourth crash, im giving up.

It really annoys me, because as the company's IT guy, i recomended we get this software, and it turns out to be totally unusuable. What does that say about me?

OK, im done ranting. <G>

Don't feel bad...next time just try (or ask to try) their demo or free version first before purchasing.
