[newsforge.com...]

As amusing as the story is, the readers' followups were almost better. Is open source humor the wave of the future?

And a quick search of Google News showed ZDnet.co.uk and Silicon.com were running this story just as one of the respondents claimed. ZDnet seems to have pulled the story, but Silicon is still running it. I checked it out, and they don't seem to be noting it as a humor or satire story.

Good read, quite funny in places.

would certainly add a new dimension to the race, all the linus-vites spamming the crap out of all the other candidates mail boxes, crashing there servers, etc.

Snort.....

but the holy trinity of porn, science fiction and open source software may only serve to split the geek vote and it's unlikely that Torvalds will find much support among the average Joe and Jolene Public.

From Silicon ;)

Hmmm. Looks like Silicon may have edited the story. I don't remember the second to the last paragraph from my first read, but I could be wrong.

He's going to have a hard time running against Doonesbury's Zonker Harris :)
