Hello WebmasterWorld :)

This weekend I was set out to purchase a new car and I did just that. The car I had my eyes set on was the Mazda RX-8 [mazdausa.com]. A few years ago I was going to buy the RX-7 (3rd gen) but got my R&Track magazine that day with the RX-8 on the front cover and halted my purchase.

My purchasing experience was very entertaining, the first place we went to wouldn't drop the price of the car at all. I went in there with Rie, her mom and a buddy who was the manager of a bmw dealership. He said he'd drop the price 167.00 everyone laughed, he wouldn't play ball at all and Rie stood up saying you've wasted my time, if your not going to work with us we're out of here. The managers face dropped. LOL. :)

We went out of the county and purchased the car, six hours later I got the price I wanted, minus all the tricks thanks to my company around me.

I got the Titanium RX-8 with the Grand Touring (GT) Package black interior I went with auto instead of manual due to my inexperience of the manual stick. The auto has the triptronic system so you can play with the paddles shifting gears.

Sweet ride EliteWeb! Those rotary engines are a blast. I think the RX-8 redlines about 9000rpm right? Lets see a pic then!

Manual Redlines @ 9k, Auto Redlines @ 7k :P Auto has more torque. :D

I saw this information on a car website I checkout on occasion and figured I'd pass it along. This was posted on 22 August 2003.

Interesting read on the horsepower flap, Giljorak. However, I presume most people test drive before buying and their butt-dyno has told them all they need to know. A letter from Mazda won't make the car go any slower. I bet most buyers will take the money and maintenance.

I agree Lawman, the ol' buttdyno is what convinced me to buy my WRX a year and a half ago.

I saw that yesterday also thank you for the heads up again though. I hope they offer the 500.00 card, the car was marked at the higher HP also. Theyre site now shows a lower HP too so Im expecting some letter along with the rest of them :)

The car still owns though, im happy with it thus far.

Well, it might be a good idea to hold the next PubCon in a country where they have no speed limits then - i guess some people might want to come with their car next time!? At least Elite and me [audiusa.com] would ... ;)

looks nice .... I was at Le Mans when Mazda won the 24 hour ... you need to hear those rotaries with a race exhaust on them .... its quite unique music ....

The car is fun and hard to drive slow. lawman, its ok you can always refer back to the picture each time the dust and me blow ahead of you :D

LoL just kidding bout that, I know there are plenty faster cars out there but for the money and the car im a happy camper :P

Had 30 day Binder Ins. through the car co which didnt cover me or anyone else only the car. :) Now all is set and im a happy camper.
