Message Too Old, No Replies

I have officially spent too much time online...

where are the hyperlinks in real life?

While reading a book the other day, I came across a small portion of a sentence that was underlined. It drove me nuts, as I *could not click on it*! Every time I see an underlined sentence now, it suggests to me that there is *something more* to be read about the underlined portion.

Is that silly, or what!?

What do you take as a sign you need to step away from your computer for a while?

(I'm taking a few days vacation next week - thank goodness!)

When I read other people's posts about spending too much time online with interest... ;)

<edit> and no, that's not silly</edit>

A favourite muse when listening to something tedious is the need to make e-paper a reality :-p Then we could have whole books on interactive paper... hyperlinks, search, multimedia content, and all in our beloved paper book format :-)

Usually a combination of roadmap eyes and delusions of granduer.

Put the keyboard down, back away slowly and take a couple of deep breaths....in, 1 2 3 4, out, 1 2 3 4.... :)

I'm still waiting for a pen with cut & paste capability, and a pencil with Photoshop built-in.

I'm still waiting for a search facility in my office.

Wait a second... books don't have hyper links?

:)

Or possibly just a delete button (for those really annoying people)

I sometimes wish that life had an UNDO command.

Ctrl-Alt-Z - step backward in PhotoShop... I wouldn't mind that one. ;)

I have conversations with people who mention something interesting and in my mind, I am on my google toolbar entering search words to find out more about it, and sometimes I find that my fingers are moving and I'm typing "practice" search phrases. Conversly, when I'm having a conversation that is BORING, my right thumb clicks as though I'm on the remote to change the channel on the TV. I gotta stop that.

I can relate. I've caught myself saying LOL, out loud in conversation.

LOL! And yep, I also thought LOL in my head, too. And have almost said it out loud on numerous occassions, and always around those people who would have NO clue whatsoever in what LOL, or any internet lingo, means.

There is no such thing as too much time online.

And try to imagine your life running on Windows. You'd have to reboot all the time and every flu would be made especially for you.

I do keep helplessly casting about for Google whenever confronted with my inability to locate an object.
When will Google index my garage? I should go post that in the googledance suggestion box-- index the contents of my mom's attic, or I'll never find all my stuff!
