$400 cab ride in NYC

Report just came over TV that one affluent NYer paid a cabbie $400 to drive him 25 miles home. The network suggested "price gouging" was hitting the Apple.

No comment about why the networks charge $2 million for 30 secs of Superbowl ad time.

My guess is the mention of that fare will draw every cabbie within 200 miles to NYC.

I heard on CNN that a shop somewhere was charging over US$ 100 for a small pack of water. I hope such things will be deal with severity.

It is a 50 mile round trip....probably took several hours given the jams....doesn't sound that unreasonable to me.

$100 for the water? Hang 'em from the nearest tree....which is probably in the front yard of the guy who paid $400 to get home!
