This might help you:
[webmasterworld.com...]

If I was to buy another I would get the Canon S400. Pocket size 4mg.

Hi le_gber,

I am going to buy a Nikon D100 next week. Check out dpreview.com for some excellent advice and information about every camera you can think of.

Hi Leo,
This is the site the photo pros use to compare cameras.http://www.steves-digicams.com/default.htm

After you purchase the camera, your next learning curve will be your photo editor. I've tried five different ones. Ulead 7.0 will handle everything for business and personal, yet easy to use and full function.

Good luck

IMHO anything with the Fuji label or Cannon especially on it is a sure buy....with a few exeptions.

too much information

I've had some really nice result with my Olympus, but I would recommend getting something 3mp or above. I just think you would be disappointed with anything less in the long run.

I have to back the recommendation for a fuji fine pix

I got one, dirt cheap (150 canadian) last year. It takes pretty good pictures for a 2mp (1.9 in reality) - the only problem with mine (A200 I believe) is that the zoom is horrific... take a step forwards and you're better off.

The best thing about it though, and I have yet to come across another digital camera that works this way, is that when you hit the shutter button, it takes the picture instantly. Most digital cameras have a delay that bothers the heck out of me, but this is like an analogue camera, instant pic, no delay.

so there you go, dirt cheap, very easy to use, small and light, and not frustrating.

To summarize:

Buy a Fuji or Cannon with at least 3mp, 4 if I can afford it.

Well, all I need now, is the money ;)

Thank you all!
