I wonder if tracking down the company who profits from spam using the method msnbc described (answering a spam mail, filling a form with a fake person's data, waiting for the offers of the big companies) could also help to identify what adress lists you're on? My (european) company is really unrelated to us loans, nobody ever requested any info about loans at all, but we receive TONS of such spam mails. All mails get trashed. It could safe the spammers a great portion of bandwith / money if they'd just remove all adresses from their lists that never return any lead (in a ideal world).
Anybody tried the msnbc method with success?
is it that big a step for the big spammers to realise they could make a bundle of money by selling the ultimate spam filters preconfigured to crack their upcoming techniques?
... although back on topic, it always does seem to be big business who benefits in the end.
There are companies that sell a exploitable os and on the other hand cash in license fees from companies that sell products to secure this exploitable os. Another not-true story, right ...!?
