The person responsible for that garbage simply doesn't understand the meaning of the word "clarity".

Looks like typical corporate rambling to me. Then they wonder why people get upset when they're told that their fare isn't refundable. ;)

lol - one of the main aims of travel companies' t&c documents is to be so stupidly confusing in order to stop people reading them before they manage to pick up any useful information. ;)

I hate that. Because they're always so snippy when you try to return something that their documents say isn't refundable, and have absolutely no understanding that it's at all difficult for you to understand a) that it's not refundable, and b) why it's not refundable. So freaking stupid. Why not increase customer satisfaction and usability by, oh, having legible conditions? But no...

Real life needs a usability study.

I think that statement would be enough to put me of booking. It actualy showed that text right next to the next button on the online booking form. Crazy.

That was a flash back!

I used to be the person who had to explain that to people when they couldn't understand what an agent (travel or our own agent) was telling them.

But it is there for the people who scam airlines. You would not believe some of the things people try

If you really want a breakdown let me know.

Sadly, as a former international res agent for United, it makes sense to me.

It would make better sense even if it were... say, properly capitalized and punctuated.
Hmm...
Well, except I have no idea what a y/c class is. But man, get a decent copywriter to edit that for clarity and the obfuscation is gone.
You can't tell me an airline can't afford a copywriter.
Which leaves me with the impression that it's deliberate. Or, they're stupid. Which one is it?

Yes. It is. I've written a few of these and had them handed back because they were "too transparent and concise" (mind you, I don't think I've written anything all in caps since I was 14)...
