>Dusty Springfield I believe
I would class that version as "white soul", if you agree and were looking to build a playlist around it I would lean towards country music.
If on the other hand you were looking for proper music, music from the soul, where the words and emotion expressed are more important than a snappy beat, then I would look at:
Ruby Winters - Better
Major Lance - You Don't Want Me More
Edwin Starr - Any record you like, ended up living in Nottingham and sadly passed away this year, what a voice! If you only choose one record then choose I have faith in you.
Mel Britt - She'll come running back
If you search for Northern Soul you may see the truth path to happiness and contentment:)
