Used to watch a good few of his films in the afternoons when I was a young 'un. They might be old films but he was a great dynamic actor.

He'll be missed but his contribution to acting lives on ;) I wonder how many years on they will still screen a Bob Hope film.

Probably the greatest ambassador to the game of golf. He brought golf to the masses, at least in North America.

Will be missed.

NBC had a great documentary on Hope's life (focusing on his USO work and golf) for his 100 birthday a couple months back. If they re-run it it is worth the watch.

100 years. How much has the world changed in that time.

He experienced people use horse and carriage and then the automobile. He's seen people communicate using the telephone then the radio then television to satellite communications.

So many experiences he has had that were not written down for others to learn.

What a wonderful man. Think how much his USO work helped people facing difficult times. The world will miss him.

The amazing unique thing about him is how many generations he was able to connect with...his comedy kept being funny generation after generation. I think that is incredible.

I only hope this isn't the end of humor that doesn't rely on shock (aka, profanity, sexual references, etc.).

Tigger Woods? :)

Maybe this is the time to tell an old European joke:
The United States has <insert president>, Johnny Cash, Stevie Wonder and Bob Hope.
<our country> has <insert prime minister>, no Cash, no Wonder and no Hope.

A Bob Hope quote I read this morning:

"I feel very humble. But I think I have the strength of character to overcome that."

When his wife asked him where he wanted to be buried he said.....

"Surprise me"
