This might be a bit OT even for Foo but I thought I would try anyway :o)

Is it possible to send SMS messages from Outlook Express; I'm sure I did it in the dim and distant past when I had no need for it. Now, when it would be quite useful I find that the ability to do it has dissapeared into the black hole called my memory. So far I have used Bigfoot but thats not free and I'm cheap!

there are some service (name escapes me) where they run an email-SMS gateway - you send an email with the number as subject, message as text.

My cell provider allows it... they also have a form on their website through which you can send free SMS. You could check with the recipient's cell provider (or all the local providers, if you don't have a specific recipient in mind), and see if they offer their own free SMS. With mine you just send the email to the phone number @mobile.cellcompanyname.com...
