Google ignores Bastille Day?

I couldn't help but notice that, unlike in years past, Google doesn't have a graphic going today honoring French independence, Bastille Day. (At least where I'm sitting here on the East Coast of the U.S.)

They've had a Bastille Day graphic [webmasterworld.com] in years past. If Google is indeed purposefully ignoring Bastille Day, would this have anything to do with the tide of anti-French sentiment that seemed to sweep the U.S. in the wake of France's refusal to support an American invasion of Iraq?

They have something on Google France [google.fr].

I think they are simply just shifting focus to the country-specific domains. I really doubt they are being super political.

I also think it has more to do with the fact that now different countries have their own logos (can't remember how long this has been the case though). Did anyone notice if a special logo appeared on non-.com googles on July 4th?

They didn't have anything for Canada day either. (july first)

They had a Canada Day logo last year and the year before:

But nothing for this year.
