I'm a toonhead so it figures that I like comics too. Just wondering how many comic junkies are out there.

Something about those short stories... ;)

I used to be a huge fan of the 2000AD comics :)

But it's classic cartoons that I really enjoyed - Roadrunner, Batfink, Hong Kong Fooey, Dangermouse - I was transfixed by all of these.

hehe, me too. I think I spent half my youth copying drawings of Ro-jaws and Hammerstein. I can still pretty much draw them from memory :-)

I remember the Silver Surfer too - I think he had a spot in the spiderman comic in the late 70s?

Current favourite is the 'Lone Wolf and Cub' series of Japanese graphic novels - translations available on amazon in original format. Its amazing what you can find on that site!

The ABC warriors - that was some dark (but funny) artwork :)

Rogue Trooper was my favourite. I too used to sketch characters and create my own brand of comic - was'nt very good though :).

Flesh from the old 200AD annuals was a great story - Cowboys sent back in time to catch dinosaurs for their meat to save a starving future earth - now that has 'big budget horror movie' written all over it.

Always thought American comics were highly overrated. I prefer the REAL comics from the French/Belgian culture, stuff like Tintin, Lucky Luke or Asterix.

Silver Surfer, Galactus's advance man.

Galactus, the baddest dude in the universe. But hey, I can't remember what happened to Galactus. Who offed the baddest dude in the universe?

I used to collect the Asterix books too :)

The authors were Goscini and Uderzo or something - Crazy place Gaul - they all used to get tanked up on the local Druids Brew and have a good old punch up with the local Roman constabulary.

I was somewhat into it about 6 years ago.
It was frustrating waiting months on end for the next issue to come out. I'm not sure if it was the same way at the big publishers like it was for the smaller ones like Image, Crusade etc...Loved Shi.

watchmen, sandman (really - anything from Neil Gaiman), early xmen.

that's is where I stop - I never got into the traditional batman, superman, etc. (except for the batman vs. superman thing, that was interesting.)
