Have been listening to internet radio of a whole new flavour recently in the form of http*://last.fm

It lets you say how much you dislike a song you skip - and from that, and matching users across the database, it finds songs better suited to you.

The only thing I'm wondering about is how they pay for it - custom streams with lots of big label music, free, without adverts... and they pay royalties.

If you have a look - I recommend getting the flash player, the web interface leaves at least a wee bit to be desired atm.

Hardly a new development - launch.com have been doing it for years, with rather good results.

hmmm, is that a rapid reflex judgement? ;-)

launch is only free if you have a "weird" taste, basically... and it's not profile based like last.fm... also, it's far too full of ads & mainstream stuff :-)

actually, i think it's definately a new development at last.fm

MSN had a pretty decent profile based free service for a while there. It seems to have morphed into something a bit more difficult to use and with a lot more ads now though.
