Internet outages around the world?

Is everybody experiencing dropped connections?

Somebody just said that across the US & Europe there has been a rash of internet hiccups. People's connections keep getting momentarily dropped the last few days.

Have others experienced this? Does anyone know how widespread it actually is? And what might be causing it?

My connection has been garbage today... up and down every five minutes, seems like.

Then again, problems like that up here aren't all that terrible uncommon.
