My machine just suffered a major crash....
The upside is that now (a week and a half later) I have a 'puter with a brain the size of the universe and faster than a 3 litre shelby cobra.LOL
Linux on one side and mx pro on the other.... (Gonna open the Linux box when I'm feeling brave!)
Don't know if I'm happy leaving '98 behind.
I've had to remember those banal user names and passwords that I always forget (got them written down someplace, if only I could remember where).
Got my net connection sorted and, as you will notice by the post, I finally remembered that I changed my www password from that number I found in an old hotmail reminder from Brett.
To add insult to injury, a client (THE client), who kept me afloat these last 2 years, telephoned me to say they don't need me any more.
(Alright I'm chasing the Ferrari importer and others who asked for estimates and I was to lazy to respond to) ;+)
So I'm 450 euros down, got a strange OS (or 2), have a computer thats gonna give me a heart attack 'cos of it's speed, need to find new clients to pay the rent and I think I'm in love with a lovely Belgian lady (don't ask what that has to do with anything!).

I think it's time to wake up and join the real world.

Have others here suffered such a shock to the system? and how did you deal with it¿..

been there, done that all this past week, too ;)

said in another thread that I hated XP but have since remembered the reason I went for it - "rollback". Used that a couple times already and mighty thankful it was there.

Now if I could just remember where "My Documents" and the C drive went to .....

Oh, how did I handle it - my hair is thinner than it was last week, I am suffering from extreme sleep deprivation, my bottle of B&B is all gone and this morning, when I really needed it, I broke the coffee pot. Things'll be better next week, right?

My Hard Drive gave up the fight this morning. Luckily I backed up my passwords.
