Is this a male thing or are women better hygienically orientated than men?
Or are women afraid to fess up?
Lord help me I am very aware of the SMELL. :-(
I think that might have something to do with the ratio of male to female members of WebmasterWorld. (Has that been addressed in a thread? Probably. When I get bored I'll look it up.)
I was bored yesterday (actually I was so angry I couldn't get any work done, which is actually more conducive to idle-time activity) so I read through the Foo Library, figuring it'd be relatively lighthearted or at least distracting. The shaving thread was hysterical. And about 99.3% male. It didn't even occur to anyone how male-dominated it was until about four pages in when someone said "I prefer Gilette for my bikini line" or something to that effect....
Hysterical. Once again, Foo has saved me from jailtime for homocide.
As for whether feet-smell is a uniquely male problem, it's not. Women are stinky animals too. But we tend to be less stinky than men because 1) we generally have less hair (hair traps odor), 2) we generally produce less sweat, and have fewer smell-producing hormones in ours, and 3) we're heavily conditioned to wash more often. When women smell really bad (and by that I mean no access to hygeine whatsoever, generally when homeless or similar) they smell way way worse than men who smell bad, but you're not going to find that kind of thing in normal living conditions.
My boyfriend's feet smell far more than mine do. He's just smellier. I don't produce that much odor. And I wear sneakers and socks far less often.
