I have an MS Office installation that has become corrupted (no surprises there...) and the detect and repair utility does not function correctly (no surprises there either!).
Anyone know if I completely reinstall Office, does it lose my existing settings like email accounts in Outlook or changes I have made to Word?

You lose a bit, but there is a Save My Settings Wizard for Office that will save a lot of that for you so that when you do a reinstall you can get back a lot of what you had set up. You would have to read the MS documentation a bit to get a clearer idea of what this does. I've never used it myself...just thought it sounded like a good idea.
