Wow, that's frightening.

I have to say, in my single days - I never got drunk and slept with an ugly women ... I woke up with a few when I was sober!

<<I've heard the "don't drink" suggestion works wonders as well... but I can't vouch for it myself. Sounds suspect. ;) >>

Agreed. This is supposed to be a serious discussion. Suggestions such as not drinking are just flaming. PLease stay on topic, we do not want this to turn into another Google Update thread. :)

Sadly enough, Foo has become as useful as forum3.

I agree on the drink a bunch of water. If I am not too liquered up when I get home I try and eat something fatty(generally mexican fast food-open until 6am) and drink at least 24 ounces of water and take some vitamins before bed.

As far as the next day it seems like lots of water and rest help. Coffee and food helps me too.

No one has mentioned this yet, drink quality alcohol when you drink. The worst hangover I have ever had came from moonshine and Old Smuggler(extremely cheap whiskey).

There is nothing wrong with quality moonshine, but I agree with your point.

Why do you americans call home-made alcohol "moonshine"?

mfishy, according to the Foo Charter:
topics are supposed to be "related to computers and internet. A virtual back-corner cafe table for general net shop talk with fellow members."

As you have no doubt noticed, we give much leeway in Foo.

Insofar as this being a serious discussion, Fooites are know for skewed sense of humor. Anyone who asks for info re a hangover almost has to expect a certain amount of craziness, and perhaps even a little unsolicited advice.

As long as things don't get out of hand, or until someone on high says to clamp down, the Foo leeway will stay in effect.

Darn good question... maybe something to do with having to operate the home distillery under cover of night during prohibition?

Mivox is right, the moon was the only source of light to shine on the illegal stills.

Made from girders!

This is a true story.

About five years ago, I was contacted by a prospective client who wanted me to market and promote a new website selling hangover prevention drinks.

By coincidence I was invited to a beer festival in hope that I will publish some favourable internet reviews on local portals and directories.

The opportunity was too good to miss, beer festival.. free, hangover prevention :) It was meant to be!

I asked the hangover prevention guy to get me a couple of cases for the beer festival and we'll do some 'market research'.

Bearing in mind that I had a free bar and no shortage of hosts offering an amazing array of beers from all over the world.

The hangover stuff was to be taken two hours before you take on any alcohol, they looked like coke bottles and tasted like Lucozade.

So I frank TWO bottles two houts before, another two before I fell on the sofa. totally rat arsed and fully clothed at 3.am.

In the morning I experienced the worse hangover I have ever had in my life, I was dying. However I struggled to work and who was the first person to phone me? ... the hangover cure quack!

I relayed by experience and current condition and he told me it was my own fault for drinking too much!

One question, did you do the promotion or did you fire the client?
