I stacked it worse than I ever have before...

I haven't been on a bike for around since I was about 20 - 4 years. I decided that I couldn't be bothered to walk the 40 minutes to the video rental place so I borrowed my housemates bike. I got through the traffic no problems and 15 minutes later I was back at my house... I knew my girlfriend was checking her emails and the window was wide open and facing the street - skidstop time! Not being used to the bike I speeded up to do a proper skidstop and pressed the brake and turned into the skid - all good I hear you think - but I pressed the front brake instead of the rear...

There I am on the pavement - my neighbours on either side came rushing out to see what had happened and my girlfriend with her head out the window going "are you ok?"... Add to that my flatmate cursing me from his window should I have hurt his bike! The bike was on my head and he was worried about the bike! My hands were red but my face was pure scarlet! I admit defeat - the London traffic can't beat me... As for my own stupidity...

That's assuming there's not a car involved in the bike wreck. ;) (But at least I didn't wreck someone else's car...)

WOW glad to hear youre ok after that little incident. Just make mental note to press the brake with your right foot next time, not your left hand.

I think the pride will take a little longer to heal than the injuries.

Thanks guys - I'm all good - no harm to anything but my pride... I don't think I will live this one down for a long while...
