Can't access MS competitor info

I've just bought a new PC running XP with IE as browser. Since the copy of MS Office I already have on another PC is sufficient for my needs, I searched on Google for a Free Office Suite. Found a suitable product but when I went to the site any mention of the free product was missing.

Went thru the same process on my old PC and the full information was there. I was able to copy the full download URL, typed it in on XP/IE and finally got the free software.

Is Microsoft blocking access to competitors products? Is there any way to disable this bias?

They have been known to do a few un-ethical things like this in the past. One example that springs to mind is blocking non Internet explorer users from accessing msn (probably a bit of a blesing) To be honest. It them prompted them to "upgrade" to internet explorer.

This whole incident could simply be due to the software companies site being altered and the changes not showing up on google yet. Try using your new pc to view the same results page on google and click on cache. Your answer may lie there.

Im not sure if they are but am interested to see if anyone else has an answer.
