In my experience, once you start feeling ill because all you have had is coke and no food, you weigh about 9 stone when your 6 foot tall, and your spit is brown you have drunk to much and need to lay off.
lol! Its supermodels diet y'know. that and ciggies ;)
<added>Glad somebody else brought this up, i thought i was the only coke addict here :)</added>
1. It's bad for your teeth!
2. It's high in caffeine which is the addictive substance, and that's not so good for you either (unless in moderation).
3. You'll get fat!
So I guess it's not so good for you unless in moderation (like most things). So the real question is, can two cans a day be considered "moderate" and therefore no big deal?

2 cans a day though is childs play. I wouldn't be worried unless you are not also drinking water. It is also not so great on your teeth.
Mike's consumption sounds like mine. I can hardly recall the last time I bought a can or 20oz bottle of diet coke. After all, they do seel those convenient single servings 2 liter bottles cold. Plop one on the desk corner in the morn, it's gone before it even thinks about warming up, and that's after the get me fired up glass or two at the house.
And for those going ewww or ick, all I can say is, before ya throw stones, how many cups of java or tea or fatty milk are you knocking down from 6-11 every morning
3. You'll get fat!- I eat burgers and not much else and im only about 9 stone, but i guess its like the atkins diet.
Kevinpate, im sure they only sell those 2 litre jobbies to get addicts like me and you to buy more. Convinient though! I find if you buy in bulk you save more money ;)
Coke is the first thing i drink in the morning.
Ill agree with it rots your teeth though, my dentist hates me! :(
Coke is the first thing i drink in the morning.
There are other problems than the obvious sugar implications.
My uncle used to drink coke (around 3-4 liters a day) until he became violently ill one day. The doctors didn't know what the hell was wrong with him - his glands were all inflamed, he had trouble breathing and he had a terrible red rash all over his body. He kept drinking coke while in hospital and the doctors eventually got to the diet issue and told him to stop drinking it. All the symptoms went away - it turns out that he had become allergic to coke. This was 10 years ago - if he drinks it today the same symptoms come back. He now drinks pepsi.
laz try one of these a day the daddy size [theonion.com] of coke bottles

Sodas are empty calories. Basically, in one experiment detailed in the article, two groups were given some food to eat. One groups was given a glass of coke, the other a glass of water. After both groups were finished, the two groups were given more food. The group who had water didn't eat any more food. The group with the coke ate more food.
run a search on aspartame, it's a sweetening ingredient still found I believe in Diet coke. once you learn that Monsanto owns it you'll begin to smell the rat
the US Air Force had a bulletin warning its pilots not to chew gum containing aspartame from fear of blackouts during flight - this is true.
The FDA finally approved it I believe during the Reagan years, although it had been listed as a bad bad thing, and I believe still is in Europe. The new director of FDA responsible for the ban lifting either previously or subsequently had a consulting gig with monsanto
or something .. I'm not up to speed on the whole conspiracy plot, and I don't much care for those things. But diet coke will fry your nerves (is it parkinson's disease, I'm not very medical) - or so all the literature says. And there *is* an MS epidemic running through america in recent years.
In this day and age, you have to ask yourself if you really trust the American corporate food supply chain to keep you healthy, and IMHO you have to learn to read labels.
This is not a rant, just a hip tip, I shudder to think of good people going down because of bad people
good luck
As my chemistry teacher used to say: "There is nothing that's not poisonous, it's just a question of quantity."
