I searched WebmasterWorld and couldn't find any mention of it, so I thought I'd add this sad piece of news about Jim Wilson passing away [searchenginewatch.com].

I'm sure there are other folks out there who started out over at (and maybe even still frequent) JimWorld and Searchengine Forums. I'll confess that Searchengine Forums was my intro to SEO messageboards, and I found it very helpful at the time (early 2000). I believe it was there that I first heard about this "other" board, WebmasterWorld, that I should check out... :)

Jim also had a nice newsletter, JimWorld Gazette, which always ended with the following in the footer:

The Gazette is not free.

It is 'Helpware.'

Each week you must help one person on the web who has less knowledge than you. Pick a forum posting or an email each week and help that person even if you have to visit their site to find the best answer or do a little research and get back to them. Trust me, this will make you feel better, and will help a lot of people get their sites running better.

OK, you're on your honor.

That always made me smile, and I would try to comply.

Thanks Jim.

It has been discussed at

I started off at JimWorld and Searchengine Forums and it's a sad loss of a great man who most of us never met but he gave so much inspiration to all of us

Thanks guys! (Did "due diligence" via 'site search' and manual scanning of Foo & Supporters forums, still didn't catch the post.)

Understandable... the other thread doesn't have his name in the title. :) But, if someone finds your thread here, it will lead them there, so we're sorted out for the moment.
