Find piece of blank A3 paper.

Place on desk infront of computer keyboard.

Turn over computer keyboard ontop of paper.

Shake and tap gently.

Be amazed at what comes out. Or discusted with yourself.

I found half a packet worth of boasters, in crumb format, two paper clips and a few staples. Not to mention a hair ball that even my cat would be envious of.

... bad idea :(

My laptop at home is in a similar state, before I do that I would have to get a black bin bag ready :)

"elvis found under f12 "
"I don't believe you he works at my local Tesco"

Clearly there is a dispute here, so to settle it. He's located at neither, he works for the police in york.

I saw him just the other day, when he was trying to read the number plate on my car!

Perhaps Elvis is omnipresent. :)

I knock the crap out of my keyboard at least 3 times a months and scrape the junk off of the mouse rollers about once a month.

When I first did it there was a great bunch of crums, eye lashes, and dirt.

I saw this one guys keyboard and between the keys was black. I would be afraid to shake that keyboard.

I wouldn't worry about the black stuff.

It's the white stuff you've got to worry about.

finger nails

Do you make a habit of clipping your nails at your desk, or are you one of those unconscious bite-off-and-spit before you realize it types? ;)

I did one worse once. Took all the keys off and cleaned it with alcohol and q-tips. Next time, I'm buying a new keyboard instead...

Ok, we're all disgusted.

Now remember:

whatever came out, 10 TIMES THAT AMOUNT got caught in the keys themselves (which if you imagine one upside down looks like a bucket) and is still in there.

I'll get me coat! :)

worst thing ever for messing with a keyboard has to be cigarette ash. No matter how carefull you are keyboard always ends up looking liek an ashtrey after a few weeks. Also if you ever look at a smokers monitor it's amazing just how much it changes in color if it is not cleaned regularly.

I spilt half a bottle of Pepsi Blue (it was free and I was really thirsty, ok :P) in my keyboard yesterday, and have just spent the last 2 hours cleaning it out. Right after I spill it, my stupid work mate who's standing next to me grabs the keyboard and tips it upside down... so much for the spill proofing..

So I go a nick a spare keyboard of a computer we don't use much, but its a wireless one, and I leave the mouse out there. I'm working away and all of a sudden my mouse curser starts to wander about and I'm watching it thinking, WTF!?! one of the guys out the back was playing with the mouse :P

Thinking about getting one of those flexible sealed waterproof keyboards (wish they had an ergonimic one).
Or I could get about 5 plain windows keyboards for the same price-about $5 ea.- :)

A few weeks back, we had some inter-office fun by prying keys off one anothers keyboards and moving them into new places... It's fun to spell out people's names, but it's tough to be creative and find ways to poke some fun using only one letter at a time.

While all that was fun, you felt really, really dirty after having seen the insides of half a dozen keyboards used some 10+ hours a day for the past few years...

The University of Arizona did a Desk Germ Study and found ‘that your desk is likely a more fertile breeding ground for bacteria than the toilet’. Now, if that is your desk, just think about what is in the keyboard.

Remember that the next time you sit down at your desk in the morning with your Egg McMuffin. (GRIN)

Now that’s good eat’in
