Grr :)
Anyway, we're sorting them out with a laptop, and are going to set up a UK ISP for when he's here, and a Spanish one for when he's there.
Any suggestions for the Spanish one? Or maybe a good UK ISP that allows you to connect to local numbers abroad.
(First person to mention AOL gets slapped with a wet kipper)
Thanks :D
Telefonica are the bigger ISP / phone company out here - support is typically bad for a large company - numerous outages during the summer months. Our work ASDL and phone systems are run by Telefonica - getting answers when our internet access goes can be a problem.
Spansurf - gah horrible - take over IE - add links to your favourites - their phone number to the top of the browser window! I never got as far as using them for access.
This is based on the Costa del Sol (Southern Spain) - some of these ISP's may be regional access only.
Scott :)
Avoid: Terra, Spansurf, Eresmas, Jumpy, Telepolis.
www.ya.com is reasonable (though not brilliant) and cheap. The best we have found is www.ibrujula.com (but you have to search bit for the connection details.
Having said that, ADSL is fairly widely available in Spain and generally good. Don't buy it through Terra / telefonica though - go for any of the others!
I've just found to my horror that my employee who's dealing with this client (because I was busy when he first rang up) has been asked to go over for a couple of days to help set everything up.
Life is so unfair... or maybe I could start to flex a few boss-muscles and find something he has to do here which means he can't go and.. oh, look.. I'm free for those couple of days.
I'm not that mean really ;)
He, he, and a few other areas too (water cuts, power cuts), but one hell of a place to live.
Hey Rufus, fancy splitting a beer some day? I'm just a short drive from you in N.Alicante Province.
Gig at Desden, El Campello, tonight, midnight....
