Well I cannot find the answer this one anywhere - and I've been looking for over a week now.

I have a toshiba satellite pro and if It stays on for say about 20 mins or so - they screen will totally freeze and most the time go completely purple or blue - sometimes it will freeze with big lines all through.

If I leave it for an hour or so it will turn back and on - but leave it on for a short length of time and does it again.

Has anybody seen this before? Anybody know where I can find the answer?

Thanks!

Sounds like a classic overheat problem. Does your fan run?

ya see thats what I thought - but I cracked the thing open and the fan works fine.

Other than that I can't figure it out.

I am guessing that is heat related - seeing as it only freezes up when its been on a for a few minutes - but I don't know

If you have to leave it for a while for it to power back up then that certainly sounds like a heat related problem.

I've had a few users Toshy's lock up when their machine kicked into suspend mode (when that option was turned on), but I could never isolate it down to a specific event or reason. I just disabled the suspend option and they chugged along nicely.

But yours does sound like a heat problem.

Good luck,
