Just received a spam from a company in the UK.

Would have been fine - I normally just delete them, but this was a 1.2Mb email with 3 PDFs attached!

Fortunately they included a phone number, so I'm now going to ring them.

There was no reply, but I got the voicemail of the woman who sent the email.

Oooh, if I could name names on this forum....

<edit>Meant to say, I left a polite message asking her to phone me back - this way I get to complain to her *and* she pays for the call :) Also, the email was sent in Comic Sans MS - something I shall also berate her for.</edit>

It's probably not intentional spam (spam, yes but they didn't know it).

It happened at the last comapny I worked for. One of the sales guys decided that he had a few hundred email addresses in his outlook address book and got a shareware program that sent them all out at once with just a terrible looking and massive email. The guy knew nothing about spam or html. He figured it was a good cheap way to talk to his clients. He didn't think that later after the prez got done ripping his head off but at the time he didn't think he was hurting anyone. There are stupid people everywhere.

Yup - I think the Comic Sans MS confirmed that, hannamyluv :)

Just got phoned back with a very sincere apology.

I then started chatting about their current web site, marketing etc, and they have now asked me to do an audit of and proposal for their web site, marketing strategies and SEO.

Anyone else think spam is a really cool thing?

Yup - it will be a brief, two page list of a few ideas with 'if you want more then...'
